2010 Youth Tier II National Championships

In 2010 the Youth Tier II National Tournament will expand from twelve (12) teams representing each District to as many as fifty (50) teams representing each State at each competitive age level (U12, U14, U16, U18). One of the major reasons for expanding the tournament centers on the idea of growing the USA Hockey brand by providing more teams/players from across the country the opportunity to participate in our National Tournaments.

Over the past several years we have hosted up to 18 teams at various venues around the country and have proven that the "Super Site" concept work. Our real challenge then is to create a fair and equitable way to break up the teams to ensure that the games are competitive and that every team that participates feels that they have a true chance at winning a National Championship.

Format:

Create 4 conferences within each age classification (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A).

Crown 4 National Champions at each age levl/conference.
Easton Skills Competition for each conference within an age level.
All game requirement including length of periods, penalties, etc would stay exactly the same as we have now. Basically we have done this over the past few years with our Super Site concept expect that now we will only host one (1) age classification instead of up to four (4) at each location.
Each State will be assigned to a conference based on total youth players registrations from the previous season.
