2019 District Tournament Application to Host and Responsibility
The State of Ohio has enacted the Lindsay’s Law: Sudden Cardiac Arrest in Youth Athletics. This law requires coaches, parents and young athletes to review information on this condition.
What is Sudden Cardiac Arrest?
A Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) occurs when the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating, cutting off blood flow to the brain and other vital organs. Sudden cardiac arrest is fatal if not treated immediately, most often by a defibrillator.
To educate parents and youth athletics about the nature and warning signs of sudden cardiac arrest, parents and athletes are required to watch a required video and read an informational handout. Links to both are below:
Parents and athletes (Striker division and above) are required to sign a form stating you have reviewed the information. This form must be completed and given to your child’s coach. Players are NOT allowed to participate in CYSA activities until the coach receives the form. Your child’s coach will have a copy of the form for you to complete or you can print the form using the link below.
Thank you all for participating in the CYSA program!
