Dayton Stealth Win Buckeye Cup for 2nd Year in a Row.
The 12th Annual Buckeye Cup was held last weekend (March 10-11-12) in Strongsville Ohio with 12 of the top high school teams competing to be the Ohio State Champion and represent the state in the USA Hockey High School National Tournament. The top seeded Dayton Stealth won the tournament in convincing fashion by beating 5th seed PHA Prowlers 8-1 in the championship game. This was the 2nd year in a row Dayton has won the tournament. They advance to the USA Hockey High School National Tournament being held from March 30th to April 3rd in Cleveland Ohio and hosted by the Cleveland Suburban Hockey League (the “CSHL”).
The CSHL’s Medina Bees are the host team in the National Tournament, which has two 16 team divisions: Division 1 consisting of teams with players all from the same high school and Division 2 consisting of teams with players from multiple high schools. The Dayton Stealth and Medina Bees are both Division 2 teams.
For more information on the National Tournament, visit the CSHL’s website at www.cshlhockey.org.
Congratulations to the 16U & 18U Team Ohio on their Pre/Post State Semi-Final Win.
